Junior Classical League JCL members claim Latin is not dead. The Latin language originated in Rome, to express this, the initiation for the club is in Roman garb, and slave auctions are held. The Junior Classical League members also attend the state and national conventions and contribute to the Indiana Junior Classical League Scholarship fund for Latin students. Officers are Barbara Ross, presi- dentg Willie Lyles, vice-president: Jacklyn Pittman, secretary, Chester Roberts, sergeant-at-arms. Mrs. Crystal Jones is advisor. The newest and messiest organization at Attucks this year is the Spelunkers, which con- sists of thirteen enthusiastic cave explorers. They have received tons of mud and grit from their ex- peditions to such caves as Buckners, Sullivan, Grotto and many, many more.
