The Senior Girls' Glee Club was organized in 1927 under the leadership of Miss
Dickenson. It was through Miss Dickenson that a uniform was adopted. They chose
it white dress with flowers of maize and blue.
In 1951 Mr. Alderfer took it over. The uniform was changed to a black dress
with white lapels. During his leadership a pin was adopted. Only girls who had
been in the Senior Girls Glee Club two semesters and who had a B average could
get these pins.
Mr. Frank Goodwin became the sponsor in 1935. The uniform was discarded as
a variety of colors was thought to add charm to the group.
In the Annual Spring Concert they presented three numbers: "The Snow," by
Edward Elgar, "I Would That My Love," by Felix Mendelssohn, and "Pippa's Song,"
by John West.

The A Capella Choir under the capable leadership of Mr. Frank Goodwin, who
also directs the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus, endeavors to carry on the musical
education of the students to a higher degree. Each member must have a good voice,
a certain degree of musicianship, as well as an interest in music. It acquaints them
with a wide range of choral literature and develops the capacity for team work in
the individual.
Three numbers, The Sea Hath Its Pearls," by Ciro Pinsuti, "Echo Song," by
Orlando di Lasso, and "john Peel," by Mark Andrews, were presented at an Inter
High Concert at South High School. The choir assisted in the presentation of the
Christmas Assembly, Gloria, and the Annual Spring Concert.
At the "Crestonite," the Follies comprised of a number of boys from the choir
were presented as dancers dressed in ballet costumes.

When school started last fall the Creston Band started drilling in marching in
preparation for the football games. By the time of the first game, they were well
prepared.
The band has played for nearly all the assemblies. It marched in the Landon
Parade and played when Roosevelt was here. On Memorial Day it presented a con-
cert at the Soldiers' Home.
Four of the members of the band, Marion Chown, George Lawyer, Charles
Berry, and Andrew Orphan, were in the All State Band and one of them, Marion
Chown, entered the solo contest.
The Band gave a cake walk as their contribution to the "Crestonite."
