FOREWORD In olden days, when the men of the North did deeds of valor, the story of their conquests was preserved in the telling of the saga, the Norseman's tale of war- fare. Creston is Grand Rapids' school of the North. Its athletes have always been known as Polar Bearsg its architecture is the Gothic of the northern Teutonsg its school song is sung to the strains of the "March of the Vikings"g the deeds of its students are preserved annually in "The Saga." In this, the nineteen hundred thirty- seven SAGA, the story of the life of the school is revealed in a typical school day. Periods of the day are used to show the passing of the hours as a student goes through an average day at school.
