the school year. All participants in the Revue were Juniors and were directed by
Mr. jay J. Rens, class adviserg Miss Adeline McKenna, of the McKenna School of
Dancing, and Miss Lois Conrad, dramatics instructor.
The play, i'She Stoops to Conquer," by Oliver Goldsmith was the first enter'
tainment on the program. The characters were Mr. Hardcastle portrayed by John
Wziriiockg Mrs. Hardcastle by Naomi Batesg Kate Hardcastle by Virginia Galbraithg
Young Marlow by Leroy Ellerbrook, and Tony Lumpkin by Howard Cameron. The
play dealt with Mr. Hardcastle's unfortunate attempts at choosing a husband for
Kate. Judging by the laughter of the audience, the play was a huge success.
"Red Sails in the Sunset" and "A Beautiful Lady in Blue" were the two popular
songs sung by Ruth Stryker and Robert Hill in "Just We Two."
That the Junior Class had in its midst personages of great musical talent was
disclosed when Carl Peterson played two piano solos, "Prelude in C Sharp Minor"
by Rachmanoil' and "Poem" by Febich. His rival for both performances was Mary
Stchouwer, the marimba soloist. To the pleasure of many she played "Lights Out,"
"Gypsy Love Song," and "Margie"
Amateurs who blithely came forth singing, dancing, doing acrobatic stunts, and
playing on various musical instruments were also an amusing part of the program to
be compared only with the tap dancers who appeared in various performances.
