SENIOR CHORUS
"They rode upon I1 Cherub, and did fly upon the wings of the iL'il1l1.U
LYING through the skies of songland as Byrd ilew into the blue gray of the
Antarictic, the Senior Chorus felt during the year of 1931 achievement and
satisfaction.
This group is a new organization, made up of the Senior Girls' Glee Club and
the Senior Boys' Club, that took the place of the mixed chorus of former years.
As ably as Commander Byrd handled his crew, Mr. Alderfer directed this
chorus of seyentyfsix voices, on their expedition which acquainted them with
many compositions among them "Through the Night" fLeiberstraumj, Lisztg "At
Twilight," Brahmsg "Listen to the Lambs," Dett, and "The Sleigh," by Kountz.
Special parties went out from the base of Byrd's company in exploration to
bring back interesting reports. Three Creston singers went to Detroit to sing in a
National Chorus under the direction of Dr. Dann and to bring back an interesting
report to the home base.
