SENIORS Girls, Athletics "file shelter of Il tliick-lzouglif-rl fir." S a slender pine in a sheltered garden struggles against the restraint of too careful pruning, so have girls' athletics struggled against prejudice and adverse criti1 cism. Since the early days of Greece and Rome hoys have had the advantages of athletic training, hut only recently have girls heen ahle to emerge from the dim shelter of the home into the free light of puhlic education and physical training. The girls' athletics of Creston are divided into two parts, junior and senior. Junior high school comprises seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. Their work inf cludes rhythm, volley hall, exercise, track, and indoor events. Senior high school, including tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades, add hockey and haskethall to their schedule. The hig event of the year was the interfclass meet held Ivlarch 12. The events were rhythm, stunts, pyramids, relays, and hopfstepfjump. Under the direction of Miss Foster and Miss Harmon the year has heen a sucf eessful one. i99l
