Basketball
CRESTONS '28f'29 basketball team was the best ever turned out by the Polar Bears. City
and Regional Championships were what the Creston boys brought home at the close of
their basketball season. In thc regular schedule, Creston lost but four games and won thirteen
-a record of which to be proud. Then in the Regional Tournament they defeated Union
and South to bring back the trophy for Regional Champinoship. From here they went to
Detroit for the playfoffs. They played Northern High School, the champions of Detroit,
and lost by a score of 32-40 in two overtime periods. Creston is very proud of this team
who could be city and regional champions and we hope to see the goal it made equaled by
other Creston teams in the future.

Football
LTHOUGH Creston did not win the majority of the games they played in the
past season, they made a wonderful showing for their first year in Class MA"
competition. Creston took on teams with far more experience than they themselves
had. Even if they were beaten in a game they did not lie down on the job, but
instead kept up the steady ight to the end which is the spirit that Creston is so well
known for. Out of nine games played, Creston won two, tied three, and lost four.
This is not a bad record for a team which played for the first time in Class "A"
rank. It is hoped that they have a championship team next year.
