Awards Dag Assembly Honors Many Students The annual Awards Day assembly held May 19 honored cheerleaders, Future Nurses United Nations and Time test winners, li- brarians, office girls, vocal and band letter winners, outstanding journalism students, yearbook editors and photographers, C-Club letterwomen, home economics, outstanding science student, and scholarship winners. 7

Athletic award winners were Jack Lynn recipient of the Kent Kunuth award and Jerry Willets the Pipin Poppa award for an outstanding wrestling record. journalism awards were presented to Anita Wear, Charol Smith, Mark Tedrow, Mari Richards, and Pam Schrodt. Charol, Mark, and Mari won places in the Iowa High School Press contest for Arrow stories and photography. Vice-Principal Ina Napier accepts a gift to the school from American Field Service student Mia Dehopere. Besides the books, Mia also presented a small statue from her native Belgium. Rosa LLanos, Inter- national Student Exchange participant, and Mia were both given service pins at Awards Day.
