The 90-piece Creston High School band has survived another year's strenuous practicing
session. The marching band presented many fine half time shows, but was hindered by rainy
weather during some rehearsals. A new group, Swing Teens, played at pep assemblies and
basketball games. They also sponsored a contest to write lyrics to a new school song. Concert
band gave several fine concerts, such as the Christmas and 1200 concerts, under the direction
of R. Jack Mercer.
