Our Creston High School Band began 35 years ago on March l, 1922. At that time the band had 40 members. They had two rehearsals weekly, directed by Clifford H. Johnston. Now the band has 90 members. It is directed by R. Jack Mercer. The full band rehearses four days a week. Sectional rehearsals are held on the fifth day. The band is governed by the Band Advisory Council, a group of seniors who help determine band policy and plan band parties. The purpose of the band is to represent our school at festivals and concerts and for the pleasure of the students playing in it.
