THE HOME COMING The public schools of which the High School is an important factor, figured largely in the Home Coming held in Creston on October 8 and 9, l9l9. The great pageant in which the High School participated was divided into five divisions: Football Men, Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores and Freshmen. The C. H. S. parade was headed by john Bray riding on horseback and wear- ing the All High School banner. The pony was decorated with plumes and ribbons of the High School colors, red and black. John was assisted by Ruth Hannelly and Margaret Peterson, robed in attire of red and black and carrying the streamers. Following came the "Football Men" decked out in the apparel of the field and making a very striking appearance. Next in line came the mighty Seniors headed by George Wickman carrying a "Blue and Gold" banner lettered with their name. The banner which headed the Junior class was green and white, and in these same colors was printed "The Pride of the Faculty," a very appropriate slogan for the class. Their banner was carried by Clayton Bacon, Louis Thompson, Earl Kessler and Franklin Agnew. The Sophomores were very much in evidence headed by the "Red and White" banner, on one side of which was written "No Slackers Here" and on the other "We Stand for Pep," and which was carried by Earl Herbel, Walton Hoover, Harry Treanor and Edward Huntington. The last but not the least important of the classes were the Freshmen headed by Willis Warner and Earnest Spriggs, the bearers of a triangular shaped "Purple and Gold" banner with "Freshmen" and "l923" in large letters. The Faculty riding in cars beautifully decorated in red and black, added a fin- ishing touch to this portion of the parade. F. F. f2I.

Senior Normal Girlz This is a poem, most informal Of the group of girls, best known as Normal A jollier bunch you'll never find, To jokes and frolics they're inclined. Bessie Northrup oft is spied With a Freshman by her side. Hazel Bowers ne'er is bored With riding in a certain Ford. Miriam Nelson, terrible tease, Plays jokes on every one she sees. Lydia Blumer, as you know, Favors one named Clifford O. She who giggles is Helene Brown, She never has been known to frown. One young lady, Ettie Spear, Won't be teaching long, I fear. Loris Kirk intends to be, A doctor of Osteopathy. Hester Zollars is so "Handy," For a pal she is a dandy. There's Beryl Pierce, a maiden who ls poet, author, artist, too. Vera Sadler, ycu'll agree, Is brilliant as a girl can be. Hazel Smock not strange to say, Has a very "Winn"-ing way. Miriam Lester fyes it's truej ls "Grandma" to a certain few. They tell us we should pattern by Our teachers, that's the reason why, When with idle time we're weighted, Like Mrs. Brurzson, we'll get mated. M.P
