Freshman Class History
As we are all gathered together for the last time as Freshmen, I will read the
happenings of the year:
Our first activity as Freshmen was the organization of our class, Miss Burgoon
was chosen as faculty adviser, Raymond Arnold was elected president of our class:
Flora Geitgey, vice presidentg and Verla Bricker, secretary-treasurer. We selected
Lavender and Gold as our class colors.
Ahout two weeks after school started the junior class gave us a weiner roast in
Hawk's woods. There, we were initiated into the mysteries of Creston High. The fol-
lowing Friday night we reciprocated with a party at the home of Kathryn Fulton.
On Hallowe'en we were invited to a party at the school house, sponsored hy the
junior class. It was the first allfhigh school party of the year. At Christmas time, we
gave a class party at the school house, This ended parties until midfyear exams were
over. Almost all of the Freshmen passed these.
On Vv'ashington's Birthday we gave a chapel program. We also, with the aid
of the Sophomores, sponsored a temperance play, "Ten Nights in a Bar Room." This
was given hy the Smithville Players.
ln athletics we were represented hy Raymond Arnold on the haskethall and hase-
hall teams: also hy Otto Glassnap, Harry Kissinger, Rohert Shaffer, and Clare Blough
on the haskethall teams, Glassnap playing in the county tournament.
