The Stor
"Sound Your Horn," a farce comedy in three acts, was
full of catchy comedy. Whether one has hitchfhiked or learned
the highway from hehind the wheel of the latest sport model
eight, theyid delight in this play of Christine's wayside refresh'
ment stand.
The play offered interesting contrasting roles in those of
Mr. Angus and Beasleyg the one suave and successful, the other
hlundering and inefficient. Homer Bird, who hlundered ador'
ingly after cute Etta furnished plenty of laughter. At times thc
irresistible Phyllis and Drusilla, drinking their way through the
list of soda pop, touched the funny hone. But the real focus of
interest was Christine who leased land for her refreshment
stand from Mrs. Van Dykes agent. Wheii Mrs. Van Dyke,
who refused to have anything so "lowfhrow" as a stand on her
property, set out to repudiate the lease and disposses Christine,
she found that she had a person to reckon with entirely differ-
ent froin the wealth-worshipping group to whom she'd heen
accustomed. Christine discovered unexpected allies in Deane
and Theodore, niece and nephew of Mrs. Van Dyke. Romance
and comedy work well to an end which proved just right. Chris'
tine proved to he a Vassar graduate and a business woman but
not too husinessflike to fall in love with Ted, and Homer Bird
got his Etta Lamh.
