SENIOR GLASS HISTORY we. are pleasedtn have so nany come to participate in the graduation ceremony for the Crested Butte High School Senior Class of 1960. You have looked forward to this occasion with us. We want you to share the joy we feel today. We have come a long way since we entered high school in the fall of September, 1956. There were six green fresh- men anxiously waiting te start the long rough climb to the top. The Hgreeniesu consisted of Diane Arnett, Mary Jo Somrak, Joy Probst, Bob Saya, Gary Farr, and Duane Ruland. We elected class officers and our leaders for the year were: Mary Je Somrak, president, Diane Arnett, vice-president, Joy Probst, secretaryg Bob Saya, treasurer, Gary Farr, reporter, and Duane Ruland, class spokesman. Mr. Ruland was our sponsor for the year. with our class officers chosen and the dreadful week of initatien over, we looked toward our high school days with high hopes and never-ending courage. We studied hard and, with what energy we had left, cen- tributed to school acticities. Gary, Duane, and Bob were on the football and basketball team, while Mary Jo, Diane, and Joy joined the pep club to cheer them on to victory. we were all in the high school band, also. Before we knew it, our first year at C.B.H.S. was ended. when we entered school as sophomores, we were sorry to see that our class consisted of five members. we were sorry to lose Duane Ruland who had moved to Olathe, Colorado. Joy Probst was president of the sophomore class, Diane Arnett, vice-president, Mary Jo Somrak, secretary, Bob Saya, treasurerg and Gary Farr, reporter. Mr. Christoff was our class sponsor. The most eventful activity of our sophomore year was initating the freshmen. Other activities were the successful booth at the school carnival, and we were still contributing our musical talents to the band. Joy Probst was crowned Queen ef the Junior Carnival, Mary Je Somrak was elected as one of the cheerleaders, and Bob Saya and Gary Farr were on the basketball team. Later in the year, we were unfortunate to lose Gary Farr who moved to Kansas. Even though we were busy, we looked forward to our junior year. 5 Upon entering school in the fall, the junior class consisted of Diane Arnett, Mary Jo Semrak, Joy Probst, and Bob Saya. Our leaders for the year were: Diane Arnett, presidentg Mary Jo Somrak, vice-president and reporterg Joy Probst, secretaryg and Bob Saya, treasurer. Mrs. Aspinall guided us through this eventful year. The first happy moment of our junior year was the day we received our class rings. During the year we sold candy, pop, and magazines to raise money. Our next event was the carnival with Mary Jo Semrak as Queen. We then presented our class play, HNewhere Fastn, under the direction of Mrs. Somrak. It proved to be a wonderful hit with everyone. Ne sooner had
