First How: John Vagts, Jane Burgess, June Cook, Wilda Halliday, Earl Thomas Declamatory Over fifty people enrolled for the 1934 Cresco declamatory contest under the able direction of Miss Meier. Three contests were held to eliminate the number to twelve for the home contest. In the home contest, Earl Thomas won first in the oratorical class, Fred Wodrich, Hrst in dramatics, and Harald Normann, first in humorous. These three were eligible for the pre-sub-district and county contests. In these pre-sub-disrict and county contests, Jane Burgess substituted for Harold Normann. Howling Hundred David Loughrey was this year's Howling Hundred president for both semesters: Ruin Champlin and Matthew Lbornik, vice presidents for the two semestersg Mary 'Ihomson and Jack Layton, treasurersg and Harald Normann and Mary Thomson, secretaries. Janet Drollinger and David Loughrey were the yell leaders. Activity tickets were priced at one dollar this year and admitted students to all events except plays.
