Christiansen varsity tenn s By all standards, this year's Tennis Team should be one of the best that Cranwell has ever fielded. Losing only three players from last year's un- defeated squad, the Varsity has high hopes of re- peating l958's unblemished record. Topping the list of returning veterans are the O'Brien Brothers, Dennis and Pete. Captain Denny, playing the num- ber two position, is well known for his cannonball serves. Pete, the team's number one player for the third straight year, has had valuable tourna- ment experience and dazzles the opposition with a varied array of shots. Since the advent of the O'Briens, the team has lost only one contest in the past two years. Thierry Lepoutre and Ralph Chris- tiansen both saw frequent action last year and will bolster this year's squad. John Graham is also slated for a playing position in both singles and doubles. New additions to the team include Tom Fahey, a hard-hitting contestant from Dalton and AI Aspillaga, a new Junior from south of the bor- der. A difficult schedule challenges the Varsity this spring, with eight definite matches arranged and the possibility of a few more contests in the offing. Among the rivals are Suffield, a strong team from Connecticut, and Berkshire Academy, always a high-ranking squad. With the hoped-for coopera- tion of the weatherman and the hard work of the team, Cranwell looks forward to a season record of which she may well be proud.
