A penalty shot awarded Cranwell enabled Garry Payne to make it 5-4, on his second goal of the day. With only a couple of minutes left, Pitts- field tied the game once more, 5-5, as the excited fans looked on in the bitter cold. With the clock indicating only 25 seconds remaining, Ed Dery brought the sweet taste of victory to Cranwell as he broke away from the Pittsfield defense and fired the winning goal into the upper right hand corner of the nets. Pandemonium ensued as Ed's Gary Scarafoni and Larry Murphy discuss first period f E ,Y -fr: W .sag --1 'Tie it x ff x 1 t-ff' Larry Murphy centers from corner teammates swarmed around him after this most precious goal of his career. At the final whistle, it was Cranwell 6, Pittsfield 5. Concluding the season with a record of two wins and four losses, Cranwell looks forward to another year on the ice with such experienced puckmen as Brian Payne, Biff Mullins, Doug Mur- phy, Lee Duncan, Ed Carroll, Jim Murray, Bill Shepard and standout Goalie John Power return- ing to the wars. Many thanks go to our Coach, Father Scully, for his efforts and encouragement during the 1959 season.

Cranwell was held scoreless in this second period. Some hard body checks by Larry Murphy and Garry Payne early in the third stanza weakened the Pittsfield attack.
