Harding, When Mr. Fink was admitted to the faculty he was also given the directorship of the junior band. The junior band consists of the grades from the first six grades up to the eighth grade. This band is also steadily increasing its membership. The band meets every Thursday for 45 minutes. It also rehearses through the year for the Spring concert in April. A Junior District Band is also held for the north-central district with members chosen from each school band. Many members playing in the junior band also play in the senior band. Fink, Director

Fitzwatern In September, 1953, Mr. James Fink came to the Cowanesque Valley Joint School as music director. The band was progressing at great strides and is still trying to improve. It is now trying to raise money for new band uniforms which are in great need. The band meets twice a week on Monday and Wednesday for 45 minutes each day. From the beginning of the year, the band re- hearses for its Spring concert in April. At this time all the members receive music emblems. The senior members who graduate re- ceive large letters.
