To Mrs. Evelyn Hall, we proudly -dedicate this Cardinal. She will long be remembered for her sym- pathetic understanding and gracious nature Toward the students at Covina High. Mrs. Hall grew up in this area, one of thirteen chil- dren. She has always had an outstanding mastery of women's sports, playing on baseball, basketball and tennis teams throughout the country and receiving na- tionwide recognition for her fielding. At Puente High School she was San Gabriel Valley League girls' tennis champ for four years, as well as Southern California girls' singles champ. In 1934, she was an outstanding girl basketball player in Southern California with the El Monte quintet, which was un- defeated throughout that season. She attended Occidental College where she was presi- dent of the Women's Athletic Association and student swimming instfuctor. A few years later she worked at Covina as a physical education teacher and then as a counselor. As dean of girls, Mrs. Hall has always been ready to cope with anything that would arise. Many times she has been asked for help by the girls concerning their problems both at home and at school. ln addition to helping girls with their personal prob- lems, she has had the difficult task of supervising and disciplining them. She assisted with the supervision of conduct around school and helped with the attendance. She was also a great asset to the students by helping with and advising the activities around school. In appreciation for all that she's done, we are proud to dedicate the 1955 Cardinal to Mrs. Evelyn Hall. AT RIGHT: Golf seems to be one of Mrs. Hall's favorite pastimes.
