Hutchinson. IUNIOR RED CROSS Under the direction of Miss Barrett, Courtland High School has joined the Iunior Red Cross Society. The aim of this organization is to help the needy. ecided that the council was to be made up of the student body officers and one representative from each class. The meetings are held once a month. Mending library books, putting stiff covers on magazines and keeping the library shelves in order, and helping neighbors when help is needed are some of the duties of the members of the lunior Bed Cross. ln February, a doughnut sale was held by this organization to raise money for this year's Red Cross ln organizing the Iunior Red Cross, it was d Emergency Fund. r i Entertaining plays: Suppressed Desires and Thursday Evening. Clever dancers: Lillian and Ardell. An interesting Armistice Day program. STUDENT BODY ENTERTAINMENT Quiet please, the show is going on. Up comes the curtain and the action begins! This year short programs were introduced in student body. They have fulfilled a double purpose of adding interest to meetings and giving the students an opportunity to use their talent and hobbies. Each month a committee of two people under the guidance of a teacher, scouted around for entertaining talent among the students. We have had tap dances, Chinese and lapanese native dances, singers, community singing, one- act plays, instrumentalists, games, and speakers. GLEE CLUB Life without a song-what a dreary school day it would be! Thirty-five girls are determined no such thing will happen to them. Go by the auditorium any Monday or Wednesday afternoons and you will hear selections from grand opera, semi-classics, and popular melodies. The Glee Club is under the direction of Mrs. Henderson. The members have organized a club in which officers are elected. This year's officers are: Lillian Meyers, president, F' aye Hogaboom, secretaryy and Norma Cortopassi, librarian. Parties are fun and lend interest to work and so this year two were given- Hallowe'en and Christmas. At school programs, student body meetings, and entertainments the Glee Club has proven itself a source of pleasure and entertainment. Round and round The music flew, But where it went Nobody knew.
