Yes and no It is now a f1OUP1Sh1H2 city, humming with lndustry My, what a difference a Iew years can make As we gaze unbelievingly at the things around us our eyes focus on a porter runrlng to take our bags Agaln we b11nk, yes, it is Harlan McKenzie He is porter at the James Drong Hotel We'11 just ask him about the old home town 'We1l,' he says, 'it 1S just like this Since Lorralne Palmer became Mayor,this has been the faste t growing, most prosperous town in the Un1ted States W When we arrived at the hotel, we were 8SfOH1Shed to flrd that lt belonged to James Drong, and he happened to be there James owns a large chaln of hotels and spends most of h1s t1me golng from one to the other Later we left our room and went down to the news stand to get a paper and magazlne There on the cover of Life Ma azlne was the plcture of Marllyn Schoeler, Am6T1Ca'S most popular model When we picked up the paper we noticed b1g black head Control Bomb W We read the story and were surprised to learn that Wanda Wraabtad was the expert referred to The next mornlng we dec1ded to visit the Mayor for a chat The Mayor's secretary was busy typing letters , one of whlch was to Senator Barbara Hockert From the Mayor s offlce we go to the court room There we flnd an attorney, Karen Baumgartner, defendlng, Lowell Larson who has been charged with breaking the a1r speed l1mit of 1000 mlles per hour The judge on the bench was Larry Mlklas, who was fast asleep Now we leave the court room and walk out on the street We stopped 1n at the drug store for an atom1c fizz the suc cessor to cokes and recognized the soda jerk to be Bernard Backer He tells us that Barbara Tanata 1S th newly elected governor of Alaska Gn the bulletln board at C1ty Hall 18 an announcement to the effect that Dr Wanda Wraalstad will lecture thls evening She lS also the discoverer of a 1001 accurate cure of cancer We decided to attend The next morning we called a taxl to go to the a1rport Wh n we arrived, we were aga1n surprlsed to flnd that our p1lot was Lowell Larson We Jumped ln our plan and flashed back to the present Thank you o O I . . . c . . . . , . - A . .
