A DEVIL S DIARY Sept 6-Here we are back to resume our school 11fe A year older and a year wlser we t oop ln the doors reaoy for hard C J work' Sept 15-The poor Freshles were marched up the hxll to the C w1th the Sen1ors hot on the1r tra1l r1d1ng lelsurely and comfortably C91 1n Shlrleys truck After the torturous work of palntmg the C all wexe refreshed w1th hot dogs and pop A pep rally followed w1th rouslng cheers for dea old C H S Sept 16-The Green Freshmen were tormented all day by the1r superlors-the Sen1ors and then to top the day off an assembly was held 1n court fashxon w1th Scr1vner actmg as Mas ter of Ceremonles Many VICIOUS punlshments were carrled out wh1le the audlence had a slde spl1tt1ng tlme Sept 16 A footb ll game w1th Sellgman was held here We were vxctorxous w1th a score of Sept 23-Our opponent was Camp Verde th1s t1me 1n a football game held at Clarkdale Agaln we were the conqureors w1th a score o 6 Sept 26-The Natlonal Assembhes presented for our enJoyment The Bushes and the1r Marlonettes They showed us the dulferent types of Marlonettes and made them act A truly umque program Sept 30-We played Snowflake there 1n the best game of the year Snowflake succeeded 1n,scor1ng agamst us as all the teams we had played thlS season were unable to do The f1nal score was 19 6 our favor Oct 6-A Natxonal Assembly w1th the Lessellls and the1r Marxonettes A very f1ne show both enterta1n1ng and lnformable Oct 7 Football aga1n and our f1rst loss Kmg man had b1g fellows whlch we could not break through Remember the d1rt and dust k1ds Stlll we yelled for all we were worth The f1nal score? 26 6 1n the1r favor Oct 14-Football w1th Jerome here for the most excxtmg game of the year Man how our boys played' The score was 13 0 the1r favor The Homecom1ng dance was held afterwards spon sored by the Sen1ors The gym was decorated ln our school colors red and wh1te because the g1rls couldnt fmd any sllver paper IH town The orchestra was very good and we all had a swell tlme By the way the Sen1ors made 35c on that dance Better than go1ng m the hole we say On the same day when all the good thmgs happened we had s1x wueks exams Oh Joy' Desplte th1s fact every one got good grades Oct 17 Another Natlonal Assembly w1th the humorlst Alex Christensen All students at tended and found Mr Chrlstensen to be a very hkeable fellow Oct 21 We beat Wlll13mS' was our favorxte cry that mte Were we happy? Well yes' The score was 24 13 Our favor Oct 28 Oh what a game' Our nerves were rag ged and our emotlons stlrred What game was thls you say Clarkdale vs Cottonwood The score 19 6 The1r favor Need we say more?
