They started the season off with a bang by winning the first three games. They beat Seligman first 13-0, then trounced Camp Verde 26-0. In the third game they upset powerful Snowflake 19-6. Then they fell behind and lost two in a row. Kingman beat them 26-6 and Jerome beat them 13-0. Then they made another upset by downing Williams 24-13. Then came the traditional game with Clarkdale. The Devils were rated to beat Clarkdale by four touchdowns but came up on the short end of the score getting beat 19-6. They made a comeback in the next tvuo games by beating Holbrook 18-0 and Seligman 46-0. We can all be proud of the players this year. Dale Petersen and Reynaldo Torrez made All- Northern first string. Dale Petersen also made second string All-State. Bob Snyder, Mike Es- calante and Leon Petersen were placed on sec- ond team and Donnie Ohlwiler on honorable mention of the All-Northern squad. Although eight of the players graduate this year we ex- pect to have just as good a team next year. Page 30
