After a great start, the Costa Mesa baseball team hopes this will be the year they win their first Pacific Coast League title. The team is led by sev- enth year Coach Kirk Bauermeister. who expects to do well in his second year in the Pacific Coast League. The team is led by senior first baseman, Greg Ertel, who led the team in hits and was selected as a second team all P.C.L. The pitching staff is led by ace, left-hander Scott Snedeker, who was off to a good start this season. Other standouts on the team include senior and team captain Mike McAleer, sen- iors Justin Reyes and Scott Siler, ju- niors Deron Mashburn and Huy Kieu, and sophomore Mike Cutler. The team was dealt a severe blow, however, with the loss of senior Paul Davis, who earned all P.C.L. honors as a junior, and led the team in batting average. The team hopes and expects to do well this year, as Coach Bauermeister says, The team is filled with hard workers and a lot of talented players. We will do well this season.
