Wrestling Despite the extreme lack of members, the Costa Mesa High Wrestling team won its first dual meet in three years. The Mustang graplers defeated Trabuco Hills High School by a score of 33-36. However, it was the only dual meet the team won this year. The team faced many setbacks through- out the year. Their biggest problem was the lack of experienced wrestlers on the squad. The team had only one senior and two ju- niors. Another significant setback was that many of the team members quit due to per- sonal reasons, which hurt the team ' s chances to effectively compete against other schools. At the league championship tournament only two Mustangs placed. Chris Brex took thrid place while Team Captain Chris Seeber took second and thus earned the right to compete in the C.I.F. tournament. As for the J.V. team, standouts included John Valencia and Steve Mellinger, who each placed second at their respective weights — 115 and 175. Left to right; M. Walker. E. Amneus, C. Stewart, J.
