Excuses For Tardies 1. But you said we ' d be in the library today! 2. I went to see my coun- selor. 3. I forgot we were on clean campus today. 4. I had to finish a test in my last class. 5. I left my books in an- other loom. 6. I ran out of gas on the way to school. L i liv 7. I fell in a big puddle and had to go home to change my clothes. 8. I got pulled over for speeding because I was trying to get here on time. 9. But I had to walk all the way from the farm. 10. My locker was jammed. 11. I was here, you just didn ' t see me when you were taking roll. Mr. Lindfors practices glass breaking 101 with his advanced chorus classes. Is the pencil a vital tool? Carole Surmon Library Assistant Dick Surmon Math Gene Swanson Math Bill Wettengel Mr. Wettengel attended high school in the 1950 ' s, playing football and running track. After school he would go cruising in his ' 51 Ford with his steady girl. Bill Wettengel has been a teacher for twenty-six years, twenty-one of which have been at Mesa. To the class of 1988, Mr. Wettengel says, Try not to take life too seriously, laugh a lot and have fun whenever possible. lO-lFaculty
