After school he would go cruising in his ' 51 Ford with his steady girl. Bill Wettengel has been a teacher for twenty-six years, twenty-one of which have been at Mesa. ' t si A Typical Day A teacher ' s day starts at about 7:30. when he or she arrives at the doors of school. They rush to the office to pick up the daily roll sheets and a hot cup of coffee. When the tardy bell rings, the teacher has the fun job of taking roll, collecting re- admits, and marking tardies, all at the same time. When all that important stuff is done, they assign work. At least five kids will ask for the pass during the peri- od, and four will get to use it. When the bell rings, everyone is waiting and the teacher is free!
