PAVE Teaches Useful Skills The teachers of P.A.V.E. are repeatedly graduating students eligible for industrial and business type occupations. Educational classes involved in P.A.V.E. are Wood and Metal shop, Plastics and Electronics, Sew- ing and Cooking, and Gardening and Busi- ness. Sewing and Cooking might be called a woman's job, but in this department the instructors allow both guys and girls to par- ticipate, which sometimes ends up a real challenge between sexes. General business, shorthand, computer- ized typing and speed writing are all classes offered in the business career area. Agriculture includes barnyard animals, raising livestock, growing plants, and start- ing your own nursery. Shop instructors are repeatedly stressing the fact that quality comes before speed, and safety comes before quality. 1. . . . but I can't see the hole in the needle!', 2. I thought I knew how to work this thing? 3. First we add an egg . . . 4. Well, it keeps falling out . . . 5. . . . then we fold the ingredients together. 6.
