Salem Witch Trials Recalledln Spring Play High drama took center stage on March 8, 9, and ll in the Lyceumas the Drama Production class presented Arthur Miller's The Crucible. The play depicts the horror of the infamous Salem witch trials. The devil was used, in different forms to push people into following different beliefs. People suspected of being tainted with this evil were treated unreasonably and irrationally. This society was whipped into a frenzy with this fear. Thousands of careers were ruined before the witch hunt was stopped by someone with enough courage to risk his own life to speak the truth. John Proctor, portrayed by Mike Walsh, was such a man. l- Danforth warns Giles Cory not to distrub the court. 2. Mary Warren cries out against John Proctor. 3. Abigail claims that Mary Warren is sending her spirit out on hcr. 4. THE CAST 5. Betty screams as spirits attack her. 6. Proctor claims the cries of witchery are false. 7.
