Surf Club's Newest Members Make Big Waves Surf Club went into the season with two strikes against them this year. Last year's graduation left them with a rather new squad, and having no experience in league competition put them off to a slow start. Advisor and lead surfer Art France said that he was pleasantly surprised at the groups progress in spite of the obstacles they facedf' The year was not a total loss, however, because the surfers had lots of fun in the waves and gained some ex- perience to make coming years the best ever. This year a special congratulations go to Randy Jaurequi who got a first place against Newport Harbor. I. The foot-work counts. 2. Surfing at 54th 3. Getting tubed?'??? Pep Club Cheers Our Team In Victory Or Defeat Keeping school spirit high is the responsibility of the Pep Club. These girls work hard to paint all the posters that are displayed around school before big games. They also keep our athletes going by tee-peeing houses and leaving candy on doorsteps in the middle of the night. In short, Pep Club cheers them up if they lose and cheers them on if they win. This year, as always, the girls sold ribbons for the football games, sold balloons for the homecoming game and sponsored the dance. Under the leadership of Carol Elliott, president, the club had an exceptionally good year. I. Okay Carol, you can have the first piece of cake. 2. Alright! Another Touchdown!
