Pep Squad Strives For Excellence In Spirit This year's pep squad was one of the best ever. The squad's goal was to have at least one member at each separate athletic event. This helped to give all the players an extra boost of confidence as they strove to make points for Mesa. Judy Lux, head Varsity Yell Leader, summed it up well by saying, '6We did our best to keep the guys spirit up whether they were winning or notf' This year the songleaders and flag twirlers cheered at a Los Angeles Rams game, and they also got to meet Joe Namath! The '77-,78 pep squad had a great year of memories stored up for themselves, and they've given us all a bit of Mesa spirit to remember forever. l. Marty struts his stuff at a Pep Rally. 2.
