The Chamber Singers Do It With Accompaniment The first testival of the year for the Chamber Singers was at the Newport Lutheran Church, affectionately known by the singers as Mr. B's Church . Concert locations in the Fall included the Balboa Bay Club, the Balboa Philharmonic, and Mile Square Park. A performance at the Newporter Inn proved to be the most fun. Lunch was provided for the group - all they could eat! That is one of the fringe benefits of being the entertainment! Along with Spring came concerts at the Disneyland Hotel, Orange County Fairgrounds and a weekend in La Jolla. During the week after Easter, the group sang their way up through California and into Nevada. Stops were make in Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, Reno and Porterville. Do you really think so, Mr. BI? Bel Canto Sings For Enjoyment And Experience Mr. Brahams affectionately refers to Bel Canto as his singing ladiesn because that is what they do, SING 4 That is, when they aren't giggling or flirting with '6Mr. B. Bel Canto is a lot of fun for young singers who aren't quite ready to take the plunge into Concert Choir. The girls can gain confidence in their voices and in their ability to function as part of a vocal group. This year Bel Canto went to Clairmont for a festival and came home pleased with the results and much better singers for the experience. A year in Bel Canto is not forgotten. Memories of the songs you learned, the friends you made, the giggles and the satisfaction of hard work will stay with you for many, many years to come. l.
