Fall Play Succeeds Matchmaker Big Success The first play ofthe year was Thorton Wilder's 'gThe Matchmakerf, the non-musical version of Hello Dol- lyf' The farce was directed by Donna Kristiansen. Long, hard hours of rehearsals went into the making of the play. The nights of sitting wrapped up in blankets, due to the extremely cold lyceum, will long be remembered. The show was a success, despite late entrances and missing props. The performances were spent in anticipa- tion, wondering whether or not Carol Elliot's voice would hold out, due to a case of laryngitis. Hot tea was kept backstage for her, for as they say, 6'The show must go onli' The final night the cast received a standing ovation and then was off for the cast party. l. Ambrose tells Ermengard about his plans of elopement. 2. Horace Vandergelder loses his temper at a dinner with Dolly. 3. The DRUNK cabman. 4. An evening enjoyed at Mr, Vandergeldens expense. 5. Cornelius and Barnaby end up in Mrs. Molloy's hat shop. 6. Dolly gives Ambrose some love-sick advice. 7. While Horace's mind is on a shave, Ambrose asks to marry his daughter. 8. any Students Make Dance A Big Success Because of such a large enrollment, the largest ever, Dance Production students had to learn the art of coop- erating with each other, working together in a team effort to make it a good year. The success of their efforts was displayed in their two dance shows in the Lyceum. The girls worked hard in competition for the three scholarships available and the recipients were pleased and proud that their efforts were rewarded. There is a fall and spring show, and also the Connie May Memorial Scholarship given to a graduating junior or senior to further their dancing career. Mrs. Feducia, as always, did an excellent job as the director of the group. I. Terry Winters starred in -Qodspell as Jesus, and received a scholar- ship for her solo. 2.
