Yeager, L. Toner: VOLLE TBA LL The G.A.A. Volleyball Teams this year were composed of girls who were interested in being involved in an exciting and very active outside sport. These girls stayed after school two nights a week and competed with other teams and gained many victories at the annual playday, at which Costa Mesa High played host to Laguna Beach, Harbor and Corona High Schools. This year there was a new technique introduced to the players. This was the fisted dig which proved to be very effective with the Wins ob- MODERN DANCE This year's modern dance group in G.A.A. learned many new skills in the art of dancing. This group was composed of girls who were interested in learning more about the Ways dances are put together and arrangedwith music. The modern dancers learned different styles of movement so that a different mood or expression could be shown. The Play Day was held between Newport Harbor, Laguna Beach, Corona del Mar, and Costa Mesa High Schools. They practiced everyday during sixth period and after school twice a week. HOCKEY The G.A.A. Hockey Team showed great teamwork and a tremendous effort in play this year with the help of their team captain Carol Way. Costa Mesa played host to Laguna Beach, Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor at the annual Hockey Play Day in which Costa Mesa placed third. The captain, Sharon Latimer, kept her team in top condition with various fielding and batting exercises. A tremen- dous school spirit and good sportsmanship was evident at their playday, held May 12th, against Laguna, Harbor, and Corona. BA DM IN TON Teamwork and sportsmanship were the goals of this year's G.A.A. badminton team. The girls used their ability to produce a great team and enjoyed playing co- educational badminton after school as an extracurricular activity.
