I thought this dress was an origina A CAPPELLA CHOIR The A Cappella Choirwas a group ofapproxi- mately sixty girls from the sophomore, jun- ior, and senior classes. The group, under the direction of Mr. Gerald Schroeder, did an outstanding job of building the good repu- tation of Costa Mesa High School through the high quality of its musical concerts. Among the fine achievements was a stirring Christ- mas Concert at Orange Coast College, com- bining the talents of the A Cappella Choir, Concert Choir, and the Orchestra.

PEP CL UB Trying to promote greater school spirit among the students of Mesa High was the task that kept the member s of the Pep Club busy at games, dances, and pep rallies this year. The club was separated into groups that painted posters ad- vertising the games, sold food and progr am s at the ga me s , and put on skits introducing the players and depicting the oppo s ing schools. Pennants, ribbons, bookcovers, and pins were Sold throughout the year to keep the spirit high and bring in money to further club activities .

These students brought enjoyment to their fellow students and to the community through their programs, which were held throughout the year. Also, a new group, named the Madrigals, was formed, Which is composed of fifteen members of the Concert Choir.
