MEDICAL CAREERS Among the manyworthwhile projects ofthe Medical Careers Club was their annual Christmas project in which they helped to make a joyous holiday sea- son for aneedy family in our area. Another impor- tant goal of the club was to award a scholarship to a student entering the field of medicine. With the valuable assistance of Mrs. Dilley, the club's ad- visor, the accomplishments of theMedicalCareers Club were many and varied. 124

Collins Radio Companysponsored the club and donated equipment for research Frequently, Collins hadmeetings for student ham radio operators with guest speakers. The club Went on frequent field trips to compare and demonstrate their equipment to other schools. Costa Mesa has the most active and resourceful Radio Electronics Clubs in the entire district. Dilley, S. Ruble S Pratt, I Nuzum. ON THE JOB TRAINING On-the-job-Training was composed of select busi- ness students from Costa Mesa High School. These girls participated in working situations at various businesses throughout the Costa Mesa-Newport Beach area . The girls went to theirjobs once a week on Thursday, leaving after fourth period. Most of the girls were not paid for their services to these businesses but gaineda great amount of experience. 125 Tell me when to smile
