Each tree has its own individuality and makes its singular contribution to the forest. Be it a forest or a tree, we have been delighted with its beauty, enamoured by its charm, enchanted by its song, refreshed by its coolness, and intrigued by its serenity. STUDENT COUNCIL The student council is an organization which exists for the purpose of carrying out executive matters of the student body. The membership is composed of the four student H.5-Pdfkff body ofhcers, the Girls' League and Boys' Club presidents, and the three class presi- dents. This year the student council made two amendments for the consti- tution of Corvallis High School. One of the amendments allows all students to vote whether or not they own a student-body ticket. The other amendment changed the advisory council membership. The mem- bership had consisted of the presidents of the various organizations, but it was changed to consist of the representatives from the home rooms. This year, the student council for the first time ventured into spon- soring an all-school social event, whic Jw'a . 'illy dance held after one of the basketball games. It reflects the philosophy, the ideals, the democratic spirit, and the quality of the student body. Corvallis may well be proud of the accomplish- ments of the high school students as they have been so ably portrayed in our fortieth year book. May these qualities and standards become a tradi- tion with us.
