HAIL T0 THE CHIEF Prove all thingsg Hold fast that which is good. . ...Bible To help you 'prove all things' has been the constant aim of your teachers. At the close of this school year the responsibility for sifting the true from the false, the good from the bad. will be essentially yours alone. To 'hold fast that which is good' demands all of the moral strength developed in you by your home, your church and your school. As you grow older and face more difficult problems you will require an ever-increasing ability to withstand the greater pressures from many directions. lVly most sincere wish for this graduating class is that each of you will continue to 'prove all things' and to 'hold fast that which is good, without compromise. i Franklyn S. Barry BOARII UF EITUCATION Scaled. Lcfl to Right: Mrs. VerNooy, Mr. Barry, Miss Smith. Standing: Mr. Vico, Dr. Higgins, Mr. ll0fIman, Mr. Shira FRANKLYN S. The Class of 1953-twelve years ago this was the title of an uncut record. It was lying on the turntable of history, waiting for the first rev- olution to begin the recording of your story. Now the record is nearly finished, waiting only for the final lines of graduation for its completion. A playback would reveal moments of perfection and others of discord, but to its authors the overall effect will always bring pleasure. Yet it never can be replayed in its entiretyg actually it can be replayed only in short phases as little groups meet and reminisce about the past. May you do this often and with pleasure, finding in your school years much to treasure and enjoy. ROBERT J. DORAN Principal OUR DIRECTORS NANCY JEAN WILCOX Vice Principal THRU THE YEARS we students and faculty of C. H. S. have been MARCHING ALONG TOGETHER, and this 1953 Album of Hits records MEMORIES. AS TIME GOES BY each of you seniors will be creating your own records. REMEMBER, ENJOY YOURSELF, but don't go through life DRIFTING AND DREAM1NGg BE FAIR, use IMAGINATION, strive for wealth and position, but ALWAYS realize that THE BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE. 6
