r SENICR CLASS OFFICERS L. Calkins, Vice President, H. Thames, Presidentg B. Hart, Secretary, E. Mclsyrnan, Treasurer SENIORS TELL Alma Mater has contributed much to us, the class of l94O. As time for grad- uation approaches each of us is filled with a combination of regret at leaving the scene of school day memories and of pride in having achieved a goal. Although the events of the year have been carried on under a new building program, we have enjoyed most of the activities customary to Seniors. Besides, this year's Senior Class will be the first to have the honor of being graduated in the newly remodeled auditorium. The fall term opened with the election of officers. Harry Thames was chosen president. Leona Calkins received sec- ond highest honors as vice president. Betty Hart was intrusted with the duties of secretary, and in Edmund McLyman's hands were placed the class's purse strings. The General Qrganization conducted a successful campaign, as usual. For a two dollar membership, this year, each student received tickets for all football and basketball games, admission to a school dance, and a subscription to the Hpurple Pennant . t I THE YEAB'S EVENTS AS SEEN TH 5145
