HECOH A SOPH OMORE N EWS 'l he Sophomore class has enjoyed a very successful year We have two hun dred and seventy nlne members IH all and th1s number of students occuples SIX home rooms The teachers who have cared for our flock are Mlss Mary Cale Mlss Sallsbury Mlss Orser Mlss Ketcham Mrs Eaton and MISS Luker 'lhe bovs have shown much athletlc splrlt belng on the track team varsxty basketball squad varslty baseball squad football squad and the baseball team Of these varlous sports track has the greatest number of Sophomores lncludlng R Al vord S Bradshaw W Camp R Grant F McKee R Mlller S Prxce W Stupke C Saunders C Hallsky and G Lang C Hallsky and G Lang have shown thelr ab1l1ty by w1nn1ng thelr C s The class was also represented on the football and basketball squads B T Jones and S Prlce are among those who make up the newly organlzed tennls team of whlch S Prlce IS the captaln The Sophomore ketball lhe glrls playlng on thls team have recelved thexr numerals On Aprll the 5th 1930 the followlng class ofhcers were elected Presldent Mllton Latlmer Vlce Presldent Cornella Burgett Secretary B T Jones and Treasurer Wlnlfred Burns The followlng Wednesday Aprll 9th organlzatlon was held by wearlng the class colors of lavender and yellow A hne program was presented ln chapel Our debut before the footllghts was made on the evenlng of March 14 ln the presentatlon of the three act comedy lhe Intlmate Strangers by Looth Tarklngton Wllllam Eddy and Cornella Burgett carrled the leadlng roles IH a very capable fashlon Thls was a most successful play due to the ab1l1ty of the players and to Prof Clum under whose dlrectlon 1t was glven Our class ranks hlghly ln muslc and llterary ab1l1ty also We have many ln the orchestra as well as ln the band In the muslcal comedy Sallor Malds whlch was glven on May 28 the leadlng female roles were taken by Sophomores 'l he Sophomores extend thelr heartlest appreclatlon to Mlss Luker for her able guldance and splendld cooperatlon durlng the last year Dorothy H ztchcoclt 4 3 1 5565-1 '-4752! 29 T - ll - N E :ai-bn s S S a c 1:4955 , . . n . ,' , 7 7 Y ' 7 ' a K 7 7 7 Y , ' . , . , . - 7 ' !
