Up to Date For the third consecutive year, The Spectator, won the National George H. Gallup Award of Excellence for its exceptional coverage of high school events, its leadership and its service to the community. In addition to the school newspaper we put out every three weeks, we publish four parent news letters sent to the homes, a literary magazine and a calender featuring different aspects of the school, said Sandy Finerman, newspaper advisor. Cortez is the only school in Phoenix and one of the few schools across the nation to win this award three years in o row. We print what the students feel and things that affect them, stated Carol Trachier, co-editor.
