T22 Yearbook Book Accomplished Without Class Despite the fact that the Publications class was cut 'from the agenda, the yearbook staff still re- mained dedicated and hard working. In fact, there seemed to be even more increasing in- terest in yearbook throughout the year. More in- volvement was contributed from underclassmen, and the Spectator Staff even helped with stories. Staff members who wished to earn credit for their working on the book were enrolled in ceramics and art classes taught by Mr. Doug Schlenker, yearbook advisor. I don't like the fact that the yearbook class was cut and that we get credit for ceramics and not for yearbook, stated junior Joanne Allison. The others who chose not to receive class credit did their assignments during their own free time. Weekly after school meetings were held Tuesdays, and varied in length. During summer vacation, the co-editors and one photographer attended the AIPA CArizona interscholastic Press Association? convention at NAU. A week was spent learning journalistic and photographic techniques. Various other conven- tions were held throughout the year, and were attended by yearbook staffers. Diligently working on their layout assignments are juniors Larry Spitalny and Tracy King. if The main job of senior Kathy Kynast was to index the entire book. At a meeting, senior Pam Gesky considers ideas proposed. For senior Teresa Peck the stereo is a necessity when working on yearbook. Always cool and calm when concerning year- book is John Summers, senior. S x 'z if T
