Those honored by this award are chosen each year by their fellow students for possessing, to a high degree, the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Kevin is admired by his fellow classmates as a leader in extracurricular activities and in high scholastic achievement. His accomplishments include being a High Ranking Senior, a member of the National Honor Society, the National World Affairs Council, and the Ski Club. Congratulations, Kevin, on receiving this award and good luck in the future. A pin and certificate were presented to Kevin on December 5,1975 in recognition of the honor of this award 41 HIGH RANKING SENIORS Mark Beckwith Martin Brundage Jane Bennett Pamela Bailey Kevin Downey Doreen Drennan David Dodds Marc Feider Diane Fox Joseph Furst Lori Gerzina HIGH RANKING SENIORS Sherri Lawson lone McCray Jeffrey Mack Anne Morion Vicki Orn Tom Popovich Debby McDannel Nancy McLaughlin s Scott Morton Larrie Morton Nancy Rogers Laura Sanford Daniel Stroup Lisa Toy Tim Volk Kathy Walsh 43 AMERICAN FIELD SERVICE STUDENT Dean Dahl In October 1974 I was chosen as the 1975 summer foreign exchange student. AFS International in New York sent me a letter stating that I would be making my summer home in East Africa. Two weeks later I took up residence with Major and Mrs. Kutukhulu and their ten children in Nairobi, Kenya. Kenya is a country filled with natural beauty and fantastic people. Every time the exchange students went on tour of the country, people would open their doors and their hearts to us. The AFS motto expresses this cultural exchange in these words: Walk together, talk together. All ye people of the earth; Then, and only then. Shall ye have peace. I would like to express my thanks to all the people in AFS who made my experience possible. Dean Dahl 44 AMERICAN FIELD SERVICE STUDENT Marc Feider I am a little puzzled at first because of my numerous impressions of my new home. The Downey family bids me an extraordinarily cordial welcome and I begin to look for opportunities to make new friends and explore the countryside. I discover very soon that Corry, although small, is a charming city with many activities. I enjoy the winter season particularly, the snow, the frozen lakes, and the skiing at Peek 'n Peak. I was most impressed that school here is a social center where students spend a lot of their spare time involved in many activities. They show much enthusiasm for almost everything that is connected with sports. I want to mention also the excellent teachers whom I had at Corry Area High School. They did a great job. I hope that my stay here contributed in some way to a better international understanding which might lead to a more peaceful world in the future. I thoroughly enjoyed my AFS experience and am extremely grateful to the friendly people of Corry who made me feel at home and showed me their hospitality for an entire year. That's why I say a brief but warm thank you very much. 45 Marc Feider 1111 UNDERCLASSMEN CANDIDS In the interest of science, Steve Toy perches in a tree on a Biology Donna Volpc shoots for two in Girls Varsity Basketball, field trip. The 1975-76 season was one of steady improvement, but not what the sports' writers would call successful. The team managed 3 dual-meet victories and tied for third place in the District Qualifying Meet at Oil City. The real story of this season was one of determination and self-improvement which must precede any success as a team. The highlights of the season are as follows: the “psyched up Beavers when Titusville showed up for a rematch, the “drop in so many times in the Titusville meet—Rich Parks equaled the team record in the “500 , the shaving of one-half of a freshman's mustache after the Franklin meet, the shaving of one-half of a freshman's beard after the Titusville meet, and the attempt by Matt Hotchkiss to destroy 10 hamburgers after the section meet.
