Sophomore Council, sponsored by Mr. Steve Cervi and Mrs. Pat Miller, had a full year of activi- ties and money-making projects. Starting out the year they sold Homecoming corsages. Through- out the rest of the year they had a caramel apple sale, candy cane sale, and a snow cone sale. They also sold Cougar phone books and sponsored the Halloween dance. As a final first semester pro- ject, sophs assembled a booklet of their experiences in council to be passed along to future councils. Christmas Tree Sale Successful For Juniors As their annual project, Junior Council once again sold Christ- mas trees. This year the juniors had an admirable amount of suc- cess, as they sold every one of the trees. They were assisted by Colo- rado Springs Teachers' Associ- ation CC.S.T.A.j. The money that they earned was used to give the seniors a memorable prom. Besides the tree sale, juniors also sold shakers, caramel apples, and raffled off a game ball during basketball season. Under the new direction of Mr. Craig Harms, the Stage Band had a successful year. They com- peted in the Maynard Ferguson Jazz Festival at Doherty High School, in which they placed sec- ond. During the month of Decem- ber, they put on concerts for local elementary schools. The Stage Band also had their own jazz con- cert here at Coronado in the spring and kept the spirit up at assemblies, basketball games, and other activities.
