Varsity Yell Leaders Radiate . The 1976-77 Varsity yell leaders not only proved to be the best last summer at the United Spirit Association camp in Logan, Utah, but also succeeded in bringing home a superior trophy from the state contest in January. Among the awards received at camp was the 49'ers award, the top award at the camp, which included a S100 scholarship. Although the squad had only two guys instead of six this year, it did not affect their quality. The squad supported all sports events and promoted school pride and spirit at pep ral- lies. l Z.. 4, if -. 4' , v t s T Head yell leader, Brenda Liester, starts a chant. Varsity Songleaders Remain State Champions! Full of enthusiasm and spirit, this year's varsity songleading squad kept the Coronado tradition by being named state champs. The squad was a rela- tively new one this year with only two returning girls. They attended the U.S.A. yell and song lead- ing camp this summer in Logan, Utah, and received a third place trophy and eighty-one ribbons. The squad then competed in the state competition, in which they received a superior trophy and became state champions. This was a hard-working squad that supported all sports events and participated in many school events and pep assemblies. The squad's success would not have been as great without the help of their sponsor, Miss Pat Calahan. Making up the squad were Co-captains Cheryl Held and Kim Sickinger, Mary Bonner, Linda Duffy, Sharon Flanagan, Cherie Gair, Patti Grillot, Laura Hagen, and Kathy Snell. Kathy Snell has fun while Co-Captains Kim Sickinger and Cheryl Held smile about their squad's success. pC1'f0rming. Mary Bonner shows enthusiasm for Coronado. Sharon Flanagan puts punch into her routine. Q O Q 0
