The team saw many improvements over last year, even though their record was 3-9. There were 20 swimmers out for the team this year. Although the team will be losing seniors Steve Hye, John Underdahl, Tim Chestnutt, Pete Jaehne, and Steve Howertong Coach Bell is optimistic about next year with many strong juniors and promis- ing sophomores returning. Girl Cagers Gain Second Year Of Experience The girls' basketball team was a pleasure to work with, remarked varsity coach, Mr. Dick Elliott. Al- though the team was relatively inexperienced, they had a great deal of ability and were a hardworking team. Captains were chosen individually for each game in order to give the girls a chance to share the responsibility. Mr. Fred Longhart served as coach for the junior varsity team this year.
