One of the astonishing facts that students come to realize is that teachers are human! The following copy in this faculty section is only a brief sampling of some of the more unique, unknown facts about CdM teachers. A few general items might be of interest - Several of our teachers got married - any connection with its being leap ye ar? About half the teachers who returned our questionaire stated that they have a philosophy of life. These included the teachings of such great men as Christ, Socrates, Thoreau, Voltaire, Nietzsche, and Schwietzer and the concepts of such movements as existentialism, realism and paganism. A good portion of the teachers excel in the areas in which they teach. For instance, the coaching staff is loaded with men who at one time gained high school, college and pro- fessional recognition for their own individual excellence - why not ask them about it sometime. Outside of athletics there are also many other experts on the faculty. Have you ever seen Mr. Tredway's jewelry, Mr. Hooper's lettering, Mr. Boaz's furniture, read any of the English teachers' writing, listened to the music teachers' performance, tasted any of the homemaking departments' pies? These are only a few examples - many teachers have avocations and hobbies out- side of their teaching fields, as well. Perhaps some of what's printed in these few pages will open the way to better com- munication by inspiring some student and faculty conversa- tions. The Mod-bod of CdM.
