FORENSICS The Forensic program at Cornell H igh School this year included debate, humorous and serious declamations, oratory, extemporaneous speaking and reading. This is the first year that the debate team has entered into any inter- school competition. The team included--Bert Minwegan, Robert White, Fred Shackleton, John Schone, and Lamar Scafe. The humorous declaimers included--Marguerite Halvorsen, Floy Swan- son, Ruth Laflin, Lillian Mumford, Alvida Johnson, and Dorothy Simonick. Those taking part in serious declamations included--Beverly Peter- son, Catherine Lord, Eleanor Saam, Julia Patten, Katherine Hanson, Irene Falbe, Lelah Jean Ambrose, and Evelyn Treakle. Oratory work included--William Ziebarth Robert White, Dennis Koepke, Eugene Turecek, Daryl Smith, Alvin Futrell, Duane Churchill, Dale Hatfield There were two extemporaneous speakers--Bob Lord and Bert Minwegan. The local contest was held on March 51 at seven o'clock in the even- ing in the high school auditorium. The tournament of the western half of the Cloverbelt League was held in Holcombe on April 5.
