I suppose that always was your secret desire. l recently took a pleasure trip across our forty-eight states, and I looked up all our class-mates. While I was driv- ing through Arizona, I had car trouble. I had to stop at a very large ranchouse. Much to my surprise I found Joe Hold- brook was the proprietor of a spacious dude ranch. Joe showed me some letters he had received. One of them came from Curtis Fowler, who is now a custom's inspector in Canada. ln his letter he said that Wanda and Skeet Williamson own a chain of restaurants across the country under the name of Williamsons' Steak House. Henry Barnes is now a Canadian mountie battling his way through the wilds of Canada. Can you picture that? As I was leaving the Holdbrook Ranch, I saw a figure trotting along the road. Who should it be, but Barbara Tubbs. She was practicing for her next track meet. Of course you know she holds the world's track record. I passed a construction gang digging ditches, and Eleanor Pate was really slinging dirt over her shoulder. Harold Black was the foreman of these workers. l noticed a sign in front of a large and beautiful home. It read, 'Canine Haven of Rest, Owner and Proprietor, Andrew Pickrell. While visiting relatives in California, I came upon many more graduates. Elizabeth Hunter was selling pencils on the corner of Hollywood and Vine, She was getting quite a lot of competition from Julian Daniel. He was selling Easter egg dye to all the little kiddies. This may be hard to believe, but I found Paul Meserole operating a chain of gg garage and gasoline service stations. Clara Mae Richardson is now a street photographer. That's understandable because you know how she enjoyed taking care of annual pictures. I found Buck Thomas is a bouncer at a San Francisco gambling casino, and Norma Jean Madison is a hat checker at the Brown Derby. Lee Roy White is modeling his phy- sique for the covers of Atlas Magazine. You'd never know him now.' ln Montana I found Melba Fielding exploring deserted mines. I persuaded her to continue the trip with me. ln Helena we found Sadie Lane improving upon Webster's dictionary. Charles Lewis is testing rocket ships for science. He expects to establish headquarters on the moon within the next year. Nelda Estill and Gloria Faye Freeman are chief artists for Urpy-Burpy Baby Foods of Great Falls. Pud.Noe.is playing shortstop for the Mississippi Ridgerunners. Maxine Morrow is working in a diaper factory in Co- lumbus. Millie Jo Russell is now a justice of Peace. She didn't remember much about her ceremony, so maybe this will be of help. From Mississippi we journeyed to Florida. Here Billie Jean Richardson and Flora Poe are partners in the Rub-a-Dub- Dub paper towel factory in Miami. Jo Ann Roden is trying to improve on the Gregg Shorthand system. Milton Wylie tests the heat of the sand on the beaches of Florida. Melba and I decided to fly to Virginia. The Pilot of the plane was L.T. Gutganus. He informed us that Warren Barton is an English Professor and Bunky Cooke is President of Virginia's leading university. Dora Lee Dunn is an interior decorator in Richmond. During our visit there, we attended a circus. Guess who the star performers were, Howard Abel gave a nightly performance eating fire and swallowing swords. He wanted to teach us how, but we said 'Q thank QL' Dorothy Clark received top billing by diving two hundred feet into a tub full of ice water. Gail O'Rear performed on the high wire. From Virginia we took the Erie Special to Chicago. The engineer was Thurston Blackwell. Thurston informed us that he wasn't the only railroad worker. Annie Ruth Howell is cleaning steam engines for the B. and O. Railroad. Upon ar- rival, we learned that Herbert Underwood is now janitor at Bums' Hangover' on Skid Row. Bobbie Nell Herron is the Society Editor for the Chicago Sun with the able assistance oflvlildred Jeans. Haiti Kugler is modeling the latest Paris fashions. We found Marie Houston flipping pancakes at Kippy's Kafe. Our last stop was New York City. We immediately began touring the sights. We found Allen Hunter climbing to the top of the Empire State Building every morning to test the speed of the wind. Ronald Abel was his substitute just in case he loses his footing some day. Mary Ruth Parsons has taken over Lowella Parsons gossip column. Jimmy Kerby has re- cently become a delegate to the United Nations. Annie Lois Gilbert is repairing sinks in the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. Buddy Thorne and Jerry Hyche are taking Walter Winchell's place. Jerry gathers news and Buddy broadcasts it. Do you think they have changed much? After one month our tour came to an end. Melba went back to Montana andl returned to Arizona to resume my job. Selling magazines in Sr. III inspired me so much, that I went to work for Curtis Magazine Company.
