l 4 ,if L MJ - Girls' and Boys' State Representatives to the 1961 sessions of Oregon Boys' and Girls' State enjoyed the opportunity of becoming better informed as to city, county and state governmental procedures. Carol Mershon participated in the Girls' State session from June 11-18 at Willamette University. Sharing in the activities of Boys' State on the O.S.U. campus was Terry Monroe. The Boys' State session was held June 10-17. Reynolds Relay Royalty Above is Louise and her escort, track cap- tain Claude Dhone. ,.,..ef'a -Q-1 Ill l 'T Ill: At the R.S. Reynolds Relays, the most color- ful track event of the '61 season, Corbett's cindermen raked in a fourth place trophy. Each school entered in the relays boasted 11 princess to take part in sovereign events of the occasion. It was difficult to determine the most gracious princess, but Corbett's belle, Louise Haley, represented CHS elegantly. 39

SONG OF THE BAYOU .Iunior-Senior Banquet Attractive young ladies and their escorts were entertained royally the evening of May 13 at the J unior-Senior Banquet. The Southern theme, Song of the Bayou, accentuated by elaborate decorations provided a pleasant atmosphere for the dining and dancing that ensued. 7,52 't Dinner was served and what a dinner it was. Colored boys kept the food rolling onto the tables and throughout the meal, soft organ music played by Mr. Bob Averill, aided digestion. The head table fbelowj seats honored guests.
